Another fun-packed evening at Ferndown Speakers on Tuesday 18 August, led by our Toastmaster for the evening, Connor, who guided the meeting with his trademark warmth, welcoming style and charm.

It was very much a night of firsts – and a wonderful example of what Toastmasters is all about: having a go, trying something new and supporting each other along the way.

Waleed, a very welcome guest to Ferndown Speakers, took on his first-ever Table Topic. Well done, Waleed!

Senugi gave her first evaluation at Ferndown Speakers, while Sally stepped into the role of Grammarian for the first time and did an excellent job.

And Salma reached an important Toastmasters milestone by delivering an inspirational Ice Breaker speech – the first prepared speech of her Toastmasters journey. Congratulations Salma!

And a warm welcome to Jaynie, our new Area Director

The evening also brought plenty of experience, entertainment and learning.

Bob delighted the meeting with an entertaining technical critique of a piece of prose he had written called *Bird*, while Christoph, as General Evaluator, delivered an outstanding evaluation of the meeting.

And last, but by no means least, John, one of our veteran Toastmasters, gave a genuine masterclass in evaluation. Demonstrating just how valuable thoughtful, constructive feedback can be.

Another evening full of speaking, learning, laughter and encouragement – and another reminder that at Ferndown Speakers, there is always an opportunity to try something for the first time.
